About

Allendale Park Community Garden is a community garden at Allendale Park in Oakland, California.

Our mission is to provide space for local households to grow their own healthy, organic vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers; help folks learn about — and put into practice — ecologically sound, sustainable gardening and food sovereignty; build community; foster mental, physical and social wellness; beautify the neighborhood; and share the bounty with our neighbors.

Rental plots are available (the City of Oakland charges $60/year or $30 for six months) or you can join and garden in our shared plots.

You can find us behind Allendale Recreation Center at 3711 Suter St, Oakland, CA 94619. The best time to visit is first Sundays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. when the gate is open for garden work days.

We are caretaking a small part of the unceded land of the indigenous Huchiun and Ohlone peoples, and recognize the important role these tribes continue to have in managing the land we call Oakland.
